Family Services

Extra Care provides a number of different services to
people with varying levels of need and circumstances. Services range from
help with intimate personal care through to time of for family carers.
Waking Night Help
Services
Extra Care provides a careworker to take over the role
of the family carer during the overnight period to allow the carer to
have a night of uninterrupted sleep.
Dementia
Services
Specialist services providing individually planned relief
programmes for carers of dementia sufferers. These services are usually
provided in the form of a morning, an afternoon or evening to enable the
family carer to have a break.
Intensive Domiciliary
Support Schemes Designed to assist very highly dependent
people either to remain in their own home or to return home from hospital
or residential care.
Mobile Night Help Services
Designed to meet the needs of people who require short
inputs of service during the night. The careworkers call at a pre-arranged
time usually to assist the client with personal care. Careworkers make
up to 20 calls per night to vulnerable adults.
Rapid Response
A service that provides a swift response to the prevention and
management of health and social care crises by providing short-term support
and care in collaboration with existing services. Rapid Response will
provide care for up to two weeks.
Family
Carer Training Programme Provides training and support which is designed around the needs, circumstances, preferences and learning style of each individual
carer.
Supporting People Services
Designed to provide a flexible, practical service to individuals
to help them meet their housing needs and to live independently at home.
Extra Care is accredited with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to
provide Floating Support services.
Education and Training
Plays a central role in the range of services provided
by Extra Care with comprehensive programmes of training delivered both
in local venues and in our specifically designed training suites at Belfast,
Downpatrick, Drogheda, Ballymena and Enniskillen.
